Knowledge Is Power

Several times I have heard women say, “I don’t understand money and I doubt I ever will!”

Until they have to.

Women who are blinded by a sense of security with a husband, or father who will or has always taken care of them will find their world shattered when a death of that steward or a divorce from the guru occurs.

What do they do then?

I was listening to an interview on a CD from Success Magazine the other day and the speaker declared the idea of “Knowledge is Power” is dead.  I beg to differ.  If women understood just the basics about money (how to earn it, how to spend it, how to save it, and how to invest it) their lives would be so much more secure than it is now.  Very powerful, indeed.

What have you done to encourage the women in your life (or you!) to get smart about money?

Lynn: Great insights and great question. I’m doing my best to understand the challenges women face in handling their finances and in their careers – they often carry a heavy load.
